This past September, we have been coordinating with our partner organizations and churches in Peru to prepare for the Backpack Project in 2014.  A key aspect of the visits were discussing common goals and getting both feedback and buy-in from the community partners.  Though we provide both the backpack and supplies we realize that the project would be meaningless with out the support of the community leaders, pastors, and volunteers.  Additionally, each group develops and modifies the program of events and plans to best suit their unique situation.  In all our work and goals the focus is not on just providing materials and leaving but being equal partners in both idea development and implementation of the project.
