Katherine and Michael Grice ran longer, faster and better than ever before this past Saturday, April 26, 2014. In the process they were also able to raise more than $2000, which will go to support 80 children for the Backpack Project in 2015. The Backpack Project provides a week of fun and creative academic reinforcement to children living in poverty in Peru. Following the week of classes each child receives a backpack with all the supplies they will need for the school year.
In training for their run both Katherine and Michael not only burned tons of calories but also shared about Umbrella Initiatives with their friends, neighbors and colleagues. Please let us know if you would be interested in running for Umbrella Initiatives to support improved educational opportunities for children in Peru.
